SEAMLESS-WAVE is a developing “SoftwarE infrAstructure for Multi-purpose fLood modElling at variouS scaleS” based on "WAVElets" and their versatile properties. The vision behind SEAMLESS-WAVE is to produce an intelligent and holistic modelling framework, which can drastically reduce iterations in building and testing for an optimal model setting, and in controlling the propagation of model-error due to scaling effects and of uncertainty due statistical inputs.

Floodplain friction Manning’s coefficient file (.n)

This file is used to set a spatially variable friction coefficient over the floodplain by assigning values of Manning’s n to each cell on the computational grid.

It must be an Esri ASCII raster file with the same dimension and resolution (i.e. ncols, nrows, xllcorner, yllcorner, cellsize) of the DEM file, followed by a space-delimited 2D array of Manning’s n values.

To use this option, the item manningfile must be included in the .par file, followed by the name of the .n file to be read. Case study “5. Eden 2015 fluvial flooding” provides an example of using a .n file.
